Administrator at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The administration is a service function where you will be part of the team working with client cases through the registration and dispatch of client documents such as decisions, judgments, and more. The administration is responsible for archives, diaries, mail handling, orders, and managing the authority's incoming emails. The job also includes other common administrative tasks. This role will also largely involve handling judgments and judicial processes.

As an administrator, you will have external contacts, representing the Swedish Prison and Probation Service towards partners and the public. The tasks require that you have knowledge of the principle of public access while ensuring that confidentiality is maintained. You will be part of the security work that applies to the workplace.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is self-driven and service-oriented. The handling of the work is part of the judicial process, and therefore it is required that you are meticulous and structured. You have good judgment, are quality-conscious, can make the right priorities, and are used to working at a high pace at times.

The work as an administrator is a service function and requires that you have the ability to work both independently and in close collaboration with other employees at the prison as well as other actors both within and outside the authority.

You are also aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others. We are looking for someone who has:

  • A minimum of high school qualifications in the form of final grades/high school diploma
  • Good knowledge of the Administrative Procedure Act
  • Good knowledge of the principle of public access
  • The ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish
  • Good IT skills

It is an advantage if you have:

  • Experience with judicial processes and/or a legal background
  • Several years of documented experience in diary management, archives, confidential documents, and handling authority emails or similar
  • Experience in administrative work within the Swedish Prison and Probation Service
  • Experience working in administrative data systems
  • Knowledge of the sanctions system
  • Experience in administrative tasks from public administration
